As the daughter of Stanley Willard Henson, Jr, a physician and Thelma Burnell Henson, Michele Carey whose birth name is Michele Lee Henson was born on February 26, 1942 at Annapolis, Maryland in the United States of America. At the age of thirteen She became a pro pianist, and was crowned the winner of a contest at the Chicago Music Festival.
